- Nolan Miskell

Explain the first moment or interaction that sparked your interest to try skateboarding?
— One of my older brothers had a skateboard and not long after that I got a complete from my parents. I was down for it right away.

What was your first skateboard setup and how did you get it?
— A Bam Margera Element board. My parents got it for me on Christmas. I must've skated like 10 different Bam graphics throughout my younger years. He was my favorite skater haha.

Where was your favorite place to skate when you first started and why?
— Santana skatepark. It was the local spot in Corona where all my homies would link up. Been skating there since I was a young lad. SL!

CHRISTIAN HOLT INTERVIEW

Do you remember where you were when you saw your first pro? What was that interaction like?
— I was at Huber skatepark in Eastvale and saw Mike Vallely. I was shy at that age and didnt say anything to him. Just thought he was Dope.

Do you feel like that interaction motivated you to learn certain tricks or made you want to skate more like that guy/girl
— Nah we’re totally different types of skaters. He keeps it OG with his tricks.

How old were you when you first got sponsored? And how long had you been skating at that point?
— I was either 15 or 16 when I got on Active ride shop. At that point I’d been skating for like 10 years.

CHRISTIAN HOLT INTERVIEW

Was the goal to get sponsored or did you not have those expectations?
— It was on my mind pretty often on how cool it would be to have sponsors. I wasn’t really tripping on it though. Being that young I just wanted to have fun and skate with my bros. Once I hit teenager mode I forsure wanted to be sponsored. I feel like that’s a little skater kids dream.

Do you find it challenging balancing your time skating and laying down tracks?
— Ohhh nooo hahah not challenging at all. Sometimes I’ll make these funny tracks on my phone when a song idea pops in my head. I only create them to make my friends laugh. Every song is super fried haha.

Are you better at skateboarding or music? Have you been inside of a legit studio?
— Skating forsure hahah in no way do I take music seriously. It’s all fun and games. I’ve been in a studio one time and my twin brother and I made a heavy rock song about chicken fingers.

CHRISTIAN HOLT INTERVIEW

Have you met any famous people while skating/filming out in the streets?
— Seth Rogen, Legend.

How was it? How did that session turn out?
— It was exciting! He grabbed the homies phone and took a selfie with us. He also complimented my homies Three six mafia shirt and did the Seth laugh right after. Definitely lit up the sesh. Right after that I back heeled the DTLA library gap. Did it for Seth!

VX or HD?
— There both buttas.

What is your all around favorite wheel? shape, size and formula.
— The Bones V2 Locks, size 53mm, street tech formula.

CHRISTIAN HOLT INTERVIEW

Favorite crew to skate with? And how are the sessions?
— My Corona/Riverside homies. Weekends its usually us and homies from different squads. Were all buds. The sessions are always litty! Laughing half the time and stacking clips the other half.

If you could do it all over again, would you change anything?
— No way. Have you seen the butterfly effect movie? I might mess some shit up in the future. Just playin I’d go back and learn more nollie tricks.
