Explain the first moment or interaction that sparked your interest to try skateboarding?
— It had to have been seeing my brother and his friend pushing around in the front yard.
What was your first skateboard setup and how did you get it?
— After the classic Kmart board, My first real setup was an Element Bam Twigs board with Grind King Trucks. I think I got it from BSA in Riverside.
Where was your favorite place to skate when you first started and why?
— My local skatepark, Hunt Park! Nothing is perfect there, which makes it the best park.
Do you remember where you were when you saw your first pro? What was that interaction like?
— It was the Flip team at a rail in LA. Shane Cross was there! He asked me if I was going to try switch backflip. I could probably only Ollie the stairs at the time ahahah. RIP Shane!
Do you feel like that interaction motivated you to learn certain tricks or made you want to skate more like those guys?
— Definitely! I grew up watching all the Flip videos and still do to this day.
How old were you when you first got sponsored? And how long had you been skating at that point?
— I think I got sponsored by Active at 16 and have been skating for somewhere around 15 years.
Was the goal to get sponsored or did you not have those expectations?
— It wasn’t really a goal to get sponsored. It was always just skating to film a part and having a good time doing it.
How did you meet Ryan Reyes and how has that connection effected your career?
— I met Ryan when I was a little kid. When we would get kicked out of spots the crew would bail out, leave me with everything and wait in the car. Then the cops would show up confused as to why there was a 7 year old by himself with a camera bag and 5 boards. Years later he got me in contact with Jared Lucas which lead to me getting my first Bones box! Thanks Ryan!
Was Ryrey naked when you first met him?
— He wasn’t naked, but he did have on skin tight chick pants that he sewed even tighter with dental floss. I have no idea how he could skate in those, let alone walk.
What is your all around favorite wheel? shape, size and formula.
— V5, 55mm, STREET TECH FORMULA!
Favorite crew to skate with and why?
— The Riverside homies and Blood Wizard family! It’s nothing but great times with both crews!
If I could be a fly on the wall I’d like to....
— Who the hell wants to be a fly?!
If you could do it all over again, would you change anything?
— Maybe stick to golf? It’s way easier on the body.
