About Bones Bushings

When you turn a normal truck, the hanger web puts pressure on one side of each bushing (top and bottom). This squeezes that side and pushes the other side of each bushing away from the kingpin. We call this a single action bushing because only one side of the bushing works for you at a time.
The HardCore insert in the center of BONES bushings connects the two sides of each bushing together by bonding them to the HardCore insert. When the hanger web squeezes one side of a HardCore bushing, that side of the bushing reacts just like a normal bushing, but the chemical bond between the HardCore and the cushion keep the bushing from being squeezed out the other side. It actually increases the resistance to turning because it is held in place by the HardCore insert. This means basically that BOTH sides of the BONES HardCore Bushing are resisting your turning force. That’s why we call BONES Bushings the first double action truck bushings.

I am such a huge fan of these bushings, even in brand new trucks I immediately swap out the bushings for bones mediums right away, I just loved the smooth consistent resistance when leaning and the super quick rebound back to neutral position. I skate Indy’s mostly and they come with pretty good bushing but I still prefer the bones, I also have these bushings in a set of Gullwings on an old Hasoi Hammer head, and some Trackers I have on a Earthwing pool deck! I have to admit that I was a skeptic when a friend of mine told me that if I were to get the BONES Medium Black and Yellow Bushings, it will make a world of difference. I went to my local skate shop and saw them in the case and thought $10, why not give them a shot?Rating
After I figured out the proper way to put in the bushings based on the instructions (put them on backwards the first time, lol), I rode them around the parking lot and noticed that it did feel a little smoother and responsive.
I took them to my local skatepark and after making multiple adjustments to my trucks to get them as loose as I need them for riding bowls and vert, I can definitely tell a difference. I have had a lot of fun riding at the park since I put these on and also, it makes a huge difference with manuals (remember, I like loose trucks) and I am noticing longer distances with my manuals and better responsiveness when carving the bowl or riding on transition. My other bushings that came with my complete were okay but I don't imagine myself going with any other bushing after my experience. Bones you are killing it! Thanks! I've been skating a long time, and I've been through virtually all aftermarket bushings. These are by far the best. I'm 220 lbs and trucks still rebound properly. I have yet to blow out or tear apart the bottom bushing with a set of these. BONES just makes good solid products that I can continually depend on, and for that I'm grateful. Rebuilt an older set of Indys with these and they are better than they were NEW!! My cruiser board is going to be next to be upgraded to these bushings! I love these, my board never favors leaning to one side like I would with single action bushings, once they get all smashed (which took about 2 weeks). The hardcore insert really does its job.Rating
As a side note, when the hardcore insert's chemical bond to the bushing breaks, my trucks tend to behave oddly, as if either truck wants to turn opposite directions from one another. This could just be a misshapen pivot cup, though. (Posted on 5/22/2018)- I love it Review by Voltaire
