BONES rider Colin Hale wins Maloof Cup Search For Ams video competition.
After two months of fielding video submissions, Maloof and REELcomp’s Search for AMs video competition has announced the winners of the street and vert competitions. In the end, the judging panel of Don Bostick, Jake Brown, Mark Waters (etnies) and Mark Cernosia (REELcomp) struggled to narrow down the top two in each category. It was BONES WHEEL rider Collin Hale that beat out everyone and now has the opportunity to compete in the Amateur World Championship of Skateboarding on July 11 - 13th, 2008.
BONES WHEEL am Chazz Ortiz places 3rd and BONES WHEEL pro Chad Bartie takes 5th.
Back-to-back-to-back AST Dew Tour champion Ryan Sheckler is back for more in 2008. After stomping his first run in Finals at the Panasonic Open here in Baltimore and dominating in the top-6 Finals Jam Session, Sheckler started off the 2008 AST Dew Tour with a bang – and an early lead in the overall standings race for his fourth consecutive Dew Cup championship.
Sheckler’s friend and fellow competitor Paul “P-Rod” Rodriguez was right there with him in Finals, finishing in 2nd place and rounding out the top three is Dew Tour rookie, Chaz Ortiz who Sheckler says is his new skate hero.
“P-Rod and Chaz are amazing and it feels great to share the day with these guys,” says Sheckler. “I think that Chaz has the potential to be the next ‘it’ skater. He has the attitude of a champion, he skates like a champion. He skates like he wants to learn how to do everything that’s going on in the skateboard world. I have nothing but good things to say for the kid. I hope he has the most success out of skateboarding.”
Ortiz is just 14 years-old, and was last year’s Free Flow Tour champion. He’s been making an impressive rise through the amateur skateboarding ranks in the last year, and accepted a wildcard slot to compete as a pro on the 2008 AST Dew Tour.
BONES WHEELS has added a 53mm Grind For Life Benefit wheel into the line to coincide with it’s bigger brother the 60mm Grind For Life wheel. Both wheels come in Skatepark Formula and come in slimmer shapes that are not yet offered in the BONES Skatepark line.
For every Grind For Life wheel sold, BONES WHEELS will donate proceeds to the Grind For Life Foundation.
